PVC has been a commonly used plastic for clamshells and
blisters. The PVC adhesive formulation seals quickly (at conveyor speeds) and
seals invisibly (clear).
This adhesive also performs this way with PLA (bio-plastic), PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) and
polycarbonates.
The sole requirement is that the surfaces to be bonded are clean and make
contact with the adhesive while being exposed to the ultraviolet
light (UV) in a Simpl-Seal® curing tunnel.
Designated as "3081," this adhesive is available in single liters, cases, and in multi-liter buckets.

What does it cost?
Average cost is about a 1/4 cent to 1 cent per seal. Cost offsets come from reduced energy and no
tooling. These often save over $10,000/year (well over a million average seals).
Sealing Option...
Due to seal strength, many packagers utilize spot sealing instead of full-perimeter sealing (reduces adhesive consumption).

Is it sticky or hard to handle?
Neither is the case. Adhesive
is “wet” until cured, but it is between layers of packaging, so wet handling is neither messy nor sticky and, as with most liquids, mishaps wipe up.
